Barbara Sauser succeeds in conveying “the refined precision” of the Italian-language author, which was praised by the Swiss Literature Prize, into German. “It’s about capturing the linguistic register, moods, nuances and allusions, and rendering them appropriately in the target language, recreating the poetic tension of the original,” Sauser describes her work in an interview with the Thurgauer Tagblatt.
