For the 29th time, the Upper Valais spa town invites you to the Leukerbad International Literary Festival from 20 to 22 June 2025. With readings and high-caliber discussions in and around Leukerbad, 35 and 40 authors, literary scholars, translators, and critics will offer everything needed for a clear-eyed literary perspective. As an introduction to the festival weekend, we again invite you on Thursday (19 June) on a literary walk with authors and a hiking guide.

29th Leukerbad International Literary Festival from 6.20.–22.2025

Herzlich willkommen, bienvenue and welcome to the Leukerbad International Literary Festival!

The 29th Leukerbad International Literary Festival will take place from June 20 to 22, 2025 (Corpus Christi weekend), the Literary Walk on June 19.

When the mountain summer begins, authors from all over the world will bring their stories through the Rhone Valley, high up at the foot of the Gemmi to Leukerbad for the International Literary Festival. Hike with authors through the Dala Gorge, let yourself be carried away to distant countries and cultures, devote yourself to the complex interrelationships of current topics—in peace, with leisure, by the warm springs.
Tickets are on sale and the program will be finalized in the spring.

Over the course of the three-day Festival (20 to 22 June), we will again present 50 to 60 events in addition to the Literary Walk on Thursday, 19 June.
