For the 29th time, the Upper Valais spa town invites you to the Leukerbad International Literary Festival from 20 to 22 June 2025. With readings and high-caliber discussions in and around Leukerbad, 35 and 40 authors, literary scholars, translators, and critics will offer everything needed for a clear-eyed literary perspective. As an introduction to the festival weekend, we again invite you on Thursday (19 June) on a literary walk with authors and a hiking guide.

Herzlich willkommen, bienvenue and welcome to the Leukerbad International Literary Festival!

Awarded the “Kultur- und Wirtschaftspreis Wallis 2025”!


The Leukerbad 2025 Literature Festival was a celebration! Many thanks to all the authors, contributors and supporters!

During the festival, we were presented with the “Valais 2025 Culture and Economy Prize” by State Councillor Christophe Darbellay. In his laudatory speech, he emphasized the importance of cultural events for the economy and highlighted the festival’s enduring commitment. In her acceptance speech, festival director Anna Kulp paid tribute to the work of long-time co-director and curator Hans Ruprecht, who programmed his last festival edition this year, and also officially welcomed Stephan Bader, the new co-director.
