Mina Hava

Born in 1998, Mina Hava studied Creative Writing at the German Literary Institute in Leipzig and World History and Science Studies at the ETH Zürich, where she developed her interest in mining and nature conservation.
Mina Hava’s first novel Für Seka (For Seka) was published in 2023. In this work, the young author explores the history of her Bosnian family, drawing on her own research in the Bosnian diaspora and their reception abroad and interweaving the historical with the personal. The novel won multiple awards and was widely praised in the Feuilletons. The NZZ writes: “The raging stasis of fear is accurately depicted in Mina Hava’s debut novel. She circles it with a matter-of-fact linguistic confidence that makes the author’s real age seem implausible. Someone who can write like this can write about anything.”
