German Voices

ULRIKE ARNOLD has performed in theaters in Munich, Düsseldorf, Wiesbaden and Munich. She was a member of the ensemble of the Bayerische Staatsschauspiel and has played roles in numerous film and television productions. In 2010 she received the German Film Förderpreis as best actress. She has directed plays in several theaters, including the Staatstheater Wiesbaden and the Metropol theater. She received the 2013 Monica-Bleibtrue-Preis for her production of Dylan Thomas’ UNDER MILKWOOD.

MICHAEL NEUENSCHWANDER finished his training in the Bern Hochschule der Künste. He has worked in various theaters including the Zürcher Theater Neumarkt, the Theater Basel, the Münchner Kammerspielen und the Deutscher Theater Berlin. Since the 2010/2011 season, Michael Neuenschwander has been a member of the Schauspielhaus Zürich ensemble. He is also known to many from numerous television productions and films in Switzerland and Germany – he played the role of Pesche in Pedro Lenz’s DER GOALIE BIN IG (NAW MUCH OF A TALKER).

ARIELA SARBACHER was born in Zürich in 1965. She was trained at the Schauspielakademie Zürich and performed until 1997, eight of those years in Germany at the Stadttheater Heidelberg and the Bremer Shakespeare Company. In 2002 she founded the EINFLUSS school (www.einfluss.ch) based on her method of presence-training, which she developed from a synthesis of her various skills as a tai chi teacher, pilates and fascia trainer, and voice and focusing coach.

THOMAS SARBACHER works as an actor in Germany and Switzerland. After years in the ensemble of the Bremer Shakespeare Company, he performed in theaters in Konstanz, Zürich and Hamburg. He also worked for film and television, becoming known to a broad public. Today he often performs at readings and records audio books for The Swiss Library for the Blind and the Visually Impaired. He also develops theater productions he stages in Zürich. In the Theater Winkelwiese he leads the ‘Sarbacher Reading’ series and leads the ‘Sarbacher Classics’ reading series in the Literature House in Basel.
