LITERARY WALK:
OVER THE GEMMI TO LEUKERBAD
THURSDAY, 6.30.2016: Guided walk with readings by PEDRO LENZ and ANITA SIEGFRIED.
Meeting place: 10 am at the Sunnbüel station (luggage deposit)
Fee: CHF 90, with discount CHF 80 (Halbtax), transportation (Gemmi and Sunnbüel) and lunch in the Restaurant Schwarenbach are included.
ROUTE: On the Thursday before the festival we invite you to join Pedro Lenz, Anita Siegfried, and a guide for a walk from Kandersteg over the Gemmi Pass and into Leukerbad. You will walk unburdened as we will arrange the transfer of your luggage from Kandersteg to Leukerbad.
The Sunnbüel cable car will bring us to 1936 metres and the start of the ‘Gemmi Path’, which leads from the Canton of Bern to Valais and up to the Gemmi. We will pass the Arvenseeli and stop for a midday rest at the Restaurant Schwarenbach, then continue on to the Daubensee and the Gemmi for a view of Leukerbad. Those who wish can continue on foot (circa 4 km with 1200 m elevation, about 1 hour duration), others will take the Gemmi cable car to the spa town to collect their luggage and enjoy the Valais waters and wine.
