Leukerbad celebrates the 25th anniversary of the International Literary Festival – finally!
After last year’s edition had to be cancelled, the Leukerbad International Literary Festival celebrates the 25th year of its existence this year. Live and in Leukerbad! 45 authors, publicists, philosophers, scientists, publishers and translators – more than ever before – travel to Leukerbad for the 25th International Literature Festival.
Conversation series “Perspectives”
In a total of eight talks, the “Perspectives” series explores a wide range of questions from literature and society.
Hygiene concept
For the first time, we set up two tents in Leukerbad for the literature festival. The “James Baldwin Tent” will stand on the meadow next to the Old Bath St. Laurent and another tent on the village square. This way we can react flexibly to the hygiene requirements and the weather. And as always, there will be readings in the hotel gardens and bars, on the Dala gorge walk, at the midnight reading on the Gemmi and in the St. Laurent gallery, of course with a hygiene concept.
Literary walk on 24 June 2021
The literary walk traditionally inaugurates the Leukerbad International Literary Festival. Accompanied by Rolf Hermann and Peter Weber, it is a stroll through the Valais’ scenic nature on 24 June 2021.
Opening in Zurich on 17 June 2021
Zurich has always been an important harbor for the Leukerbad Festival. For some years now, we have had a loose cooperation with the Literaturhaus Zurich. The opening of the Leukerbad Festival will therefore be celebrated in a jubilee session with Rolf Hermann and Peter Weber in Zurich.
