Abigail Seran, born in 1972, is a trained lawyer and Valaisian writer with French and Swiss citizenship. Since 2013, she has written five novels, a collection of short stories, a documentary book on the first production in the Théâtre du Crochetan in Monthey after it closed for 18 months due to COVID (Antigone’s Journal), as well as a book of illustrated columns. Seran is a member of the cultural council of the Valais canton, the cultural commission of the city of Monthey, and the cultural commission of the city of Aigle. She is, in addition, the founder and director of participatory writing project D'écrire ma ville (Writing my City), which has been implemented in five cities in western Switzerland: Monthey, Bernex, Lausanne, Sion, and Neuchâtel.

Since autumn 2022, Abigail Seran directs the Maison des écrivaines, des écrivains et des littératures (MEEL, House of Writers and Literatures), the goal of which is to bring writers in Valais and French-speaking Switzerland to the fore.
