TREIBHAUS
Live Literature Forum for Emerging Writers

Since 2013, Switzerland’s only traveling literary competition has been discovering new writing talent. “Treibhaus”, the young writers’ forum of the journal Literarischer Monat, offers newcomers to the literary scene the chance to present their work in public. The “Treibhaus” jury selects the three best from all the texts submitted in the competition — these writers then read their works in a final round in Leukerbad and submit to the jury’s live discussion of their work. And: the audience has a say in choosing the winner!
The final round will take place in the Galerie St. Laurent and will be moderated by the TREIBHAUS-patron, Hildegard Elisabeth Keller (SRF Literaturclub, Bachmann Prize juror). She will be joined onstage by our juror Liliane Studer (editor) along with guest jurors MICHAEL FEHR and FRANZ HOHLER. Additional jurors are Nora Zukker and Martin R. Dean as well as the editorial staff of the Literarischer Monat.
The second round of the 2017 competition runs from 1 July to the 30 September. Again, the best prose text will be selected and presented live in the final round on 6 November, 2017 in the Kaufleuten Restaurant in Zurich before a jury and the public.
